My Rome Review

Getting Started - What is My Rome Review?

Overview

My Rome Review is a FREE service available to all registered users. It enables you to take advantage of the following features:

  • My Reviews & Replies: View a collection of your Reviews and Replies
  • My Library: Create a Library of Listings (think of it as a collection of your Favorites or Essentials)
  • Share My Library: Share your Library with friends and family
  • My Email Alerts: Easily activate (and deactivate) Email Alerts to track comments about a Listing or replies about a Review that you have written
  • My Info: Confirm your account info and change your password

To access your My Rome Review panel you must first login.  If you have not yet registered, you are cordially invited to do so. It's free, so why not try it?  Click here to become a registerd user.

After logging in, you will need to click the My Rome Review link in the top right of the page. (We have opted not to take you directly to the My Rome Review page for purposes of convenience... in the event you are on a Listing that interests you prior to logging-in, you won't lose it once you have done so!)

On the My Rome Review home page you will see five tabs: My Reviews & Replies; My Library; Share My Library; Email Alerts; My Info.

My Reviews & Replies

Here you will find a collection of all of your Reviews and Replies. The default sort is in reverse chronology, i.e., the last review that you have written appears first. However, you may also sort your reviews according to the following criteria: by Title; by Type (Type being either a Review or a Reply); by Price Watch (this is useful if you have included Price Watches in your Reviews... for more on Price Watching, click here.); by Clicks–quickly see which Review has been viewed the most!; by Rating–either highest to lowest or vice versa.

Please note: if your Sort Order isn't what you wish, i.e., if the Sort says "Rating - Worst Rated", but you want the opposite, just click the title of that column again and it will invert the sort to "Rating - Best Rated". This is true for all Sorts throughout the Rome Review website.

My Library

My Library is a collection of Listings that you have identified as helpful or worthwhile (though we suppose you could also use it to make a collection of things you dislike.) At the top left of the My Library page you will see the total number of Listings you have in your collection and the total number of clicks that these Listings have received.

Please note: if you write a Review about a Listing, it does not, by default, add that Listing to your Library, so you will need to do the following:

How do I add a Listing to My Library?

Easy. At the bottom of each Listing is a My Rome Review Control Panel.  To add a Listing to your Library, just click on this button: Add to Library

Doing so will change the button to this: Remove from Library  Click this button to remove the Listing from your Library. You may ALSO remove the Listing from your list of Listings directly from your My Library page.

What does Add New Library mean?

If someone invites you to look at their Library, enter the username and library code they have sent you in the grey-colored "Add new Library" box. Once you have done so, you will be able to access their Library using the "View:" jump menu.

Once you have selected a library other than your own, a "Remove" button will appear next to the Library. If you click this, you will lose access to that person's Library, so think twice before you do it!  If you should have trouble later accessing a friend's library (meaning you no longer see it in the jump menu!), be sure that your friend still has you activated as a user of their library.

Share My Library

If you wish to share your Library with a friend, simply enter their name in the grey-colored box, then click the button "Share".  A message will appear similar to the following:

Dear (Your Friend's Name),

Me (Your Username) from Rome Review is inviting you to view his/her Rome Review Library. To access the Library, please do the following:

  1. Login. If you are not yet a registered user, please register.
  2. Click on the "My Rome Review" link in the top right.
  3. Click on the "My Library" tab, then look for the "Add New Library" box on the right.
  4. Insert the Username "(Your Username)" and then insert the following Library Code: RR4f49fdf7a1
  5. Click the button "Add Library".
  6. Voila'! You now have access to (Your Username)'s library via the "View" jump menu on the top left of the "My Library"page.

Because we all know how much spam sucks, we've designed it so that you can copy and paste this message into your personal email. That way your invitation won't get lost!

If you wish to no longer share your Library with that person simply delete their account.

My Email Alerts

Would you like to be notified when someone writes a Reply to your Review? Or would you like to follow what people say about a particular Listing?  Once again, quick and easy.  Just click the button Add Email Alert in the My Rome Review Control Panel below the Listing. This will change the button to this: Remove Email Alert.  Click this button to remove the alert. Or, you may remove the alert directly from the list on the Email Alerts page.

Very Important!

Since spam continues to be a bigger and bigger problem, please ensure that you have identified "noreply@romereview.com" as an address that is permitted to send you email, or the alerts will end up in your Junk Folder.

My Info

Here you will find a copy of the information we have on file. If any of this information is incorrect, please contact us.  The primary function of the My Info page is to enable you to change your password. To do so, simply insert the old password, then the new password (then confirm the new password), then press the button "Change".

"If you build it, they will come."

Ah, if only this were true!  But we hope it will be. We've worked hard to try and put something together that is simple and dare we say–fun!– for the entire Rome Review Community to use.  And we are always looking for ways to improve.  If you have any comments, criticisms or suggestions that you think would make the My Rome Review experience even better, please contact us... and we will do our best to continue to make Rome Review THE premier resource for English speakers in Rome!
