Rome Review Presents the Goddess Spot
Fashion, Sex, Dating, Eternal Style
By Dea
Hi, I’m Dea. Welcome to the Goddess Spot.
Every woman is a goddess. I am here to make sure that all of you females out there know and discover this while living in the Eternal City. Men, deal with it.
How to become a Goddess? It starts with knowing where to find the best shoes and bargains on clothes. Trust me, living and working in the Eternal City also means “working it” and to do that, you’ve got to look your best, even when you can’t afford a jaunt down Via Condotti. Furthermore, looking your best doesn’t just stop in the workplace or the clubs - the Italian women mean business - they even dress up just to go grocery shopping... you never know when you might bump into that hot butcher or stock boy.
So what to do after a tough week of looking your best? Feel your best. There’s nothing better than a good massage or facial and here at the Goddess Spot I’ll tell you where to go, what to pay and who has the hands strong enough to meet your satisfaction... and come Summer time I’ll even give you the sneak tip on where to find the most merciless Brazilian wax.
Of course don’t let your goddessness trick you into thinking that you have to make it on your own. There’s nothing better than a good circle of Goddess talk and I’ll tip you off to some of the best places to gather with girlfriends and plan your divine interventions.
And if at the end of your own Goddess Talk you’re still looking for that tenth opinion on why that Italian figo hasn’t called yet, write me. I’ll be happy to bring you back down to Earth and help you recharge that goddess power.
I know, I know. You’re asking yourself: ma chi sei? Who are you? And what makes you think that you’re goddess enough to pull this off?
Well, I come from the heartland of Divas... OHIO. And to make things even more fabulous, my parents were both from Calabria. This combination makes it possible for me to easily relate to the funny and quirky things in each of the two cultures, something I’ve been able to appreciate even more since moving to Rome six years ago: on the one hand, I feel the pain of the ex pat who is frustrated by the rude shop assistant and on the other hand, I understand why Italian men are 10 years younger than their real age. Then again, aren’t all men? The Italians just make it that much more obvious by living at home.
And let’s not forget what my mother would always tell me: “isa importanta to alwaysa looka gooda.” Ordained I was to a life in the fashion industry... which I live to this day.
So meet me here at the Goddess Spot on Rome Review for a zany, offbeat look at fashion and beauty and romance and relationship in my city where a sense of humor should never sleep and glass of wine is necessary for survival.
